The RMC All-Stars Big Band

The RMC All-Stars Big Band is a hard-swinging, exciting and innovative ensemble from within the Band of the Royal Military College, Duntroon. The band’s instrumentation consists of the traditional line up from the glorious swing era of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, rhythm and vocals.

The repertoire of the band ranges from traditional big band (Glenn Miller, Count Basie and Woody Herman) through to funky versions of Tower of Power and Quincy Jones arrangements. The Band members also enjoy playing charts of modern big bands such as the Gordon Goodwin Big Band and works composed by the Australians James Morrison and Ed Wilson. Many of their arrangements are also scored by members of the band.

The All-Stars are featured on major concert programs with the full Band of the Royal Military College and is a mainstay at balls and cabarets providing Latin, Quickstep and Swing music, setting the pulse for dancing the night away. The All-Stars can be seen at Jazz Festivals around Australia, promoting the Australian Defence Force and performing to the young and young at heart.

The band is under the musical direction of Captain Dave Thompson and features the vocal styling of Musician Dave Andrews
